The Great Human Race
On 7 May 2005 six colleagues of Umicore Canada took part in the 13th annual Great Human Race, an event which raises money for hundreds of non-profit organizations within our community. The money goes to a huge range of charities: everything from sports and wellness and human services to environmental affairs and the arts.
Attracting 3,000 participants and raising $250,000 for The United Way, the event was a huge success.
Well done to everyone who took part – especially our colleagues! Glenn Cabauatan, Thomas Lau, Charito Wiebe, Nathan Buzik and Jody Pratch all went on a three-kilometre walk, while Michelle Baker tackled an eight-kilometre run.
